Share with a group

Once you have a group, sharing is per-item. Pick the thing you want to share, pick the group, done — every member sees it in their own Moonjar.

  • You’re a member (or owner) of at least one group.
  • The item you want to share is owned by you. You can’t re-share someone else’s shared item into a different group.
  1. Open the document in Documents.
  2. Tap the share icon.
  3. Pick Share with a group.
  4. Select one (or more) groups.

Every member of those groups can now read the document. Group members don’t get notified by default — the document just appears in their library, filtered to that group.

Same flow as documents — open the memory, tap share, pick groups. Memories carry their author through to other members, so the chat assistant in a group chat knows whose memory it’s reading.

See Share a conversation. Other members can read every message and post their own.

Open the collection, tap share, pick groups. Every item in the collection becomes visible to group members. Members can add and edit items too.

Open the trip, tap share, pick groups. Bookings, the itinerary, the checklist, and saved places all become visible to group members.

Open the list (not an individual item), tap share. Every item in the list becomes visible — list-level sharing only, no per-item.

If most of your captures should auto-share with the same group, set that group as your default:

  1. Open Settings → Groups.
  2. On a group, tap Set as default.

Documents, collections, and trips you create from now on auto-share into the default group at creation time. Email captures also auto-link to the default group. You can remove the default at any time.

Each share is its own row — tap the share icon on the item again and pick Unshare from the relevant group. The item goes back to private (or remains shared with whichever other groups still have it).

  • Sharing happens at the item level (or list level for reminders). There’s no whole-library sharing.
  • A document shared into a group can be unshared by its owner. Members can’t remove the share on each other’s behalf.
  • Auto-share via default group fires only at creation. Documents captured before you set the default don’t retroactively share.
