Email addresses for capture
Capture-by-email works only when the email’s From address is registered against your account. Your sign-up email is registered automatically; this page is how to add others (work email, a shared family inbox) so you can forward from those too.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- Moonjar app installed and signed in.
See your registered addresses
Section titled “See your registered addresses”- Open Settings → Email addresses.
- The screen lists every address registered to your account, with an optional label per address. The address you signed up with is labelled Primary.
Add an address
Section titled “Add an address”- Tap + Add.
- Enter the email address.
- (Optional) Add a label — Work, Shared family, Old account.
- Save.
Forward an email from this address to save@in.moonjar.io to
test. Moonjar replies confirming the capture.
Remove an address
Section titled “Remove an address”- Tap the address.
- Tap Remove.
The address is no longer registered; future forwards from it get the “sender not recognised” reply.
What if someone else uses the same address
Section titled “What if someone else uses the same address”Email addresses are unique across Moonjar. If you try to add an address registered to another account, you get an explicit error — “this email address is already registered by another user”. The address can only be associated with one account at a time. Remove it from the other account first (if it’s yours) or use a different address.
Limits
Section titled “Limits”- Addresses are case-insensitive (Gmail’s
Foo+bar@gmail.comandfoo+bar@gmail.comare treated as the same). - There’s no per-account limit on registered addresses, but each
must be valid (contain an
@). - The address is matched exactly on incoming email. Plus-tags
matter —
you+moonjar@gmail.comis treated as a different address fromyou@gmail.com.
