You sign up to Moonjar with just your name and email. There’s no password — Moonjar emails you a 6-digit code to sign in.

  • An email address you can check right now.
  1. Open the Moonjar app and tap Sign up.
  2. Enter your name and email, then tap Send code.
  3. Open the email Moonjar just sent you. The subject is “Verify your email” and it contains a 6-digit code that expires in 10 minutes.
  4. Switch back to the app and enter the code on the verify screen.
  5. The first time you sign in, accept Moonjar’s notice about its use of third-party AI providers.

You’re in. New accounts start with a free 7-day trial of Moonjar Pro; after the trial you continue on Pro. See Usage and limits for what Pro includes.

Once your account exists, the sign-in screen defaults to passwordless — enter your email, tap Send code, get a new 6-digit code, enter it. There’s no password to remember.

A password sign-in path is still available via the “Use a password instead” link below the primary button — legacy test accounts that have a password set can use it — but normal accounts only ever use the OTP code.

After your first sign-in, Moonjar opens a welcome screen instead of going straight to the home tab. It sends a small test email to your sign-up address — a sample order confirmation from a fake shop, with a PDF receipt attached and “TEST ONLY” in the subject so it can’t be mistaken for a real receipt.

  1. Open the email Moonjar sent you.
  2. Forward it (with the PDF attachment) to save@in.moonjar.io.
  3. The welcome screen polls in the background — when the forwarded email lands and Moonjar processes it, the screen flips to a “captured” state and hands off to chat with a prefilled question about the sample doc.

You can also skip the welcome screen — there’s a link below the primary button. The welcome screen runs once per account; you won’t see it again unless you reset onboarding from the API (POST /api/auth/reset-onboarding, mainly used by testers).

Your sign-up email is registered as a capture address on day one. If you forward an email from that address to save@in.moonjar.io, Moonjar captures it into your library — no extra setup. See Capture by email for how to add other addresses.

Code didn’t arrive. Check spam. If it’s still missing, go back to the previous screen and tap Send code again. You can request up to 5 codes per hour from the same device.

“An account with this email already exists.” That email already has a verified Moonjar account. Tap Sign in instead and request a code the same way.

“Too many wrong attempts.” After 10 wrong attempts on a single code the code is locked. Request a new one and try again.
