Notifications & briefings

Moonjar reaches out four ways: push notifications to your phone, an in-app inbox, a daily summary, and proactive insights surfaced as you go. Each can be tuned independently.

Proactive insights

“You haven’t replied to that”, “Renewal in 5 days”, “New expiry on your insurance”. Read →

A scanner runs every five minutes looking for things worth notifying you about — reminders coming due, documents expiring, events about to start. A separate insight scanner runs hourly, producing softer “you might want to look at this” signals. Both write into the same notifications list.

The mobile app uses Apple’s APNs / Google’s FCM to push the urgent ones to your phone. Quiet hours (configurable) stop pushes during a window of your choice. The in-app inbox always stays up to date, quiet hours or not.

A daily summary is generated on demand for the daily-note view — it’s a separate Claude call (small, fast, cheap) that summarises what happened in your library yesterday or today.
