Scan a document
Moonjar’s scanner handles paper documents that aren’t digitised yet — receipts, contracts, letters, anything you’d otherwise photograph and crop. It detects page edges live, captures each page, and combines them into one document.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- Moonjar app installed and signed in.
- Camera permission granted (the scanner asks on first use).
- Open Moonjar and tap the Capture tab.
- Tap Scan in the mode selector.
- Hold your phone over the document. The camera detects the page edges and captures the page automatically.
- Repeat for each page. The scanner supports up to 20 pages per document.
- Review and re-shoot any pages you’re not happy with.
- Confirm to upload.
What happens after
Section titled “What happens after”Moonjar combines the pages into one document, extracts the text from each page, classifies the result into one of 15 document types, pulls out the relevant fields, and files it under Documents. Scans are processed in the background — you’ll see them appear in your library within a few seconds.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”Edge detection is jumpy or won’t trigger. The scanner needs decent lighting and a clear contrast between the document and the surface behind it. Try a darker desk or move closer.
Scan stuck “processing.” Pull-to-refresh in Documents. If it doesn’t appear after a minute, re-scan.
